Math/Flocab Wednesday

In math the past 2 days we have been looking at arrays such as rectangular arrays and today we looked at square arrays.  We figured out the first 10 square numbers and used them to help us find a pattern.

On Wednesdays from 10-11 half of the class will go to Raemelton, while the rest of the class does Flocabulary.  It has been a lot of fun as we get to listen to a rap that gives us 10 vocab words.  We then review the words and play a game that we then create a beat after we get the questions correct.  After we win the game together it’s our turn to create a rap using the words.  They have come out really funny.  The raps are posted on the board outside my room!

What goes into a Real Election.

This last week we got the opportunity to use the new voting machines that will be used this year.  Each student was able to vote and learn a little bit about the process that goes into getting all machines out around the county.  This helps students understand that all though in class we are creating our own class council that when they become adults they will get the opportunity to vote and run for election for real!

Also, we were visited by a couple of deer having lunch right outside our classroom.  We are so lucky to get to see nature up close.  Whenever we see something outside the room we have to make sure we make time to enjoy it!

The 3 Branches of Government

We watched the 3 branches of government from flocabulary and tried to sort what each branch does and who is in each branch.  The students did great!  Pictures from the Field Trip are coming as soon as the write up is done.  It will be another student post!
